Buck Brass

Buck Brass is one of the UK’s leading brass chamber ensembles, renowned for its innovative programming, virtuosic performances, and commitment to expanding the brass repertoire. Founded in 2013 by graduates of the Royal Academy of Music, the ensemble has established itself as a leading force in brass chamber music.

Dedicated to broadening the scope of brass trio and quartet music, Buck Brass has championed both original compositions and transcriptions of works by composers such as Poulenc, Bohme, Ibert, and Beethoven. The ensemble has actively contributed to the expansion of brass repertoire by commissioning new works from renowned composers Steven Verhelst, Wendy Hiscocks, and Timothy Bowers. Their collaborations with both emerging and established composers have resulted in a diverse and growing body of work that showcases the expressive and technical possibilities of brass instruments.

With a busy performance and recording schedule, Buck Brass has performed at some of the UK’s most prestigious venues, including HM Treasury, London Guildhall, St. James’s Piccadilly, Lambeth Palace, The King’s Chapel of the Savoy, The Queen’s Chapel at St James’s Palace, Westminster Abbey, and St. George’s Hanover Square.

Individually, members of Buck Brass regularly perform with world-class orchestras such as the Philharmonia Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, English National Opera Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, and BBC Concert Orchestra. They have played under the baton of internationally acclaimed conductors, including Semyon Bychkov, Marin Alsop, and Sir Mark Elder.

Balancing tradition with innovation, Buck Brass expands the possibilities of brass chamber music, delivering performances that are both technically refined and musically compelling.
